Wendy Baker

Theater

Wendy is a stage director, educator, playwright and videographer. Her work with Lucy Moses School spans thirty years, where she has been a teacher and director for the Summer Musical Theater Workshop. 

In NY, she has directed for Michael Howard Studio, Prism Productions, Stepforward Productions, Groundworks Productions, The American Musical and Dramatic Academy, The Roundabout Theatre Conservatory, The Mannes School and Lucy Moses School at Kaufman Music Center. As a teaching artist, Wendy creates original productions and develops theater and video residency programs for schools in NYC, Rockland County and Westchester County. 

Wendy spent seven years in Seattle, WA, where she was the Artistic Director of Rainier Valley Youth Theater. There, she founded Seattle’s only ongoing Young Playwrights Festival. Also in Seattle, Wendy was a teaching artist with Seattle Repertory Theatre and director for the Bainbridge Performing Arts Youth Theater.

As a videographer, Wendy currently works for Concordant Communications and has worked for Mack Digital Communications and Southern Westchester BOCES Office of Public Relations.

Wendy holds a B.S. in Acting and Directing with a Voice Minor from Syracuse University. She studied abroad at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts. Graduate studies include theatre-in-education courses at Hunter College and film editing at SUNY Purchase.
