Yari Bond



Cellist Yari Bond has performed throughout the United States, Europe and Japan as soloist, chamber and orchestral musician. She received her training at the Juilliard School as a student of Leonard Rose. A founding member and artist director of the Carnegie Chamber Players and the Thurnauer Chamber Music Society, she designed and implemented Chamber Music America residency programs in Vermont and New Jersey. Ms Bond has performed on WNPR Performance Today, WNYC and Vermont Public Radio. A champion of contemporary music she has premiered and recorded the music of many composers and can be heard on the the CRI, Opus One, Naxos, Classic Masters and CBS Masterworks labels. She has participated in such music festivals as Caramoor, Yale at Norfolk, Aspen, Bach Aria Festival, New England Bach Festival, Yellow Barn Music Festival and the Basically Bach Festival in Anchorage, Alaska. Ms Bond has performed with numerous ensembles in the New York area, including the Orchestra of St Lukes. Ms. Bond teaches cello and chamber music at Columbia University and at The Special Music School and Lucy Moses School at Kaufman Music Center, and is a coach at the New York Youth Symphony Chamber Music Program. Known for her ability to support and nurture young people, she is artistic director of Concerts Con Brio, Celebrating Young Artists in New York City.
