Widely considered one of the greatest clarinetists on the planet with his own unique sound and approach, Grammy nominee David Krakauer has been praised internationally as a key innovator in modern klezmer as well as a major voice in classical music. The program includes Keepers of the Flame – a site-specific work composed by Karakauer and Tagg at the borders of Poland, Belarus and Lithuania – as well as klezmer favorites and a selection from Osvaldo Golijov’s Prayers of Isaac The Blind. Featuring students from Kaufman Music Center and Montclair State University’s John J. Cali School of Music.
