This event has been postponed.
In an effort to reduce the spread of COVID-19 (Coronavirus), public events at Merkin Hall have been suspended through May 11. See Kaufman Music Center community updates related to COVID-19.

Featuring rising star musicians from Kaufman Music Center’s Special Music School High School.

Music is universal in human culture, but serves no obvious biological function. Renowned Tufts University Professor Aniruddh Patel, author of Music, Language and the Brain, will discuss a variety of research studies bearing on the mysterious and sometimes unexplainable power of music (including other species!) – followed by a performance.
