Part of the What Makes It Great? series

Hosted by Rob Kapilow and featuring Accord Treble Choir, Special Music School Treble Choir and harpist Karen Tay

Celebrate the season with Benjamin Britten’s brilliant and much-loved holiday work for treble chorus, solo voices and harp! Inspired by a book of medieval poetry Britten accidentally discovered during a fateful sea voyage in 1942, A Ceremony of Carols pairs ancient texts with modern music, reimagining them for a new generation. Dismissed as unfashionable by some of his contemporaries for writing tonal music at a time when twelve-tone music and serialism were on the rise, Britten is now considered a central figure of 20th-century music.

$25 student tickets are available by phone or in person. Call the box office at 212 501 3330.
