NYYS was founded to showcase the city’s talented young musicians with the knowledge that music education transforms lives. Since its inception, NYYS has educated and inspired the metropolitan area’s most gifted young musicians ages 12 to 22 through exceptional ensemble training and performance opportunities – to ensure that students develop their musical craft while also increasing imagination and intellectual curiosity, discipline, creative thinking, risk-taking, teamwork and self-confidence. Experiencing the culmination of their hard work on stage is nothing short of astounding.
