Emily Kohn is a New York City based performer and educator. She began her violin studies at the age of three where she herself was a young Suzuki student at the Lucy Moses School.

Emily has performed in venues throughout NYC ranging from Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center to the Queens and Brooklyn Museums of New York. Additionally, she has performed at venues across the U.S. including the Perry Belmont House in DC, Bowdoin College in Maine, and the Tanglewood Music Center in Massachusetts, as well as internationally at the Japanese Embassy in Rome. One of her greatest honors was performing for First Lady Michelle Obama at a UNG Assembly event in Harlem, NYC.

Emily holds her Bachelor of Music Degree in Violin Performance from the Aaron Copland School of Music at Queens College. Upon completing her degree, Emily received her Suzuki Teacher Training at the School for Strings registered in books 1-8. Her instructors include Christiane Pors, Allen Lieb, Linda Case, and Nurit Pacht. In addition to Lucy Moses, Emily currently serves on the faculty of the Hudson River School of Music, WHIN Music Community Charter School, and Voyager Music Lessons. Additionally she maintains a private music studio in Manhattan where she currently resides.
