Pre-Ballet students will learn balance, locomotor and creative movement skills while developing foundational introductory ballet skills. Discipline, strength, flexibility, coordination and cognitive awareness offered through ballet class will prepare students for dance, sports and other athletic activities.
The younger age group is focused on introducing toddlers and preschoolers to ballet. The older age group incorporates the relationship to people and space, with the emphasis on musicality, channeling emotions through movement, and having fun.
The curriculum is designed to continue through the Fall and Spring semesters. Students are encouraged to register for the same day and time for both Fall and Spring. Students enrolling in Fall and Spring Dance classes together receive a 10% discount on the Spring class tuition.
Classes with a minimum age of 2 or 3 culminate with a share in the studio. Spring classes with a minimum age of 4 and beyond culminate in a performance in May in Merkin Hall.
Summer classes are standalone.
Please visit the Dance Program Page for attire info, discounts, and recital information.
