Andrea Neumann is an international trailblazing trombonist whose exceptional talent and dedication have solidified her position as a leading figure in the world of brass performance. Making history, she was among the first five women trombone players to secure a prestigious chair on a Broadway Musical. Her groundbreaking achievement shattered gender barriers and inspired countless aspiring musicians. Andrea’s passion for collaboration and her ability to connect with artists from diverse cultural backgrounds have led to a remarkable career as a chamber musician. From intimate ensembles to grand orchestras, audiences worldwide have been moved by her expressive and soulful performances, which showcase her mastery of the trombone. Moreover, Andrea Neumann's versatility extends to the digital realm, where she has made guest appearances on various podcasts, sharing her wealth of knowledge and inspiring a global community of music lovers.


Since 2016, Andrea Neumann has assumed the role of the International Women Brass Conference coordinator for the Solo Tenor Trombone Competition. In this esteemed position, she has played a pivotal role in promoting and advocating for women brass musicians, creating opportunities for them to showcase their talents on a global stage. In taking part in the IWBC Mentorship Program, her dedication to empowering female artists within the brass community has been commendable, fostering an inclusive and supportive environment that celebrates diversity and excellence in trombone performance. Through her leadership and commitment to the cause, Andrea continues to shape the landscape of the brass industry, inspiring a new generation of women trombonists to reach for their dreams and break barriers in the world of music.


Beyond her performing career, Neumann's commitment to education is evident through her experience in teaching students of all ages. Her guidance has nurtured the next generation of musicians, instilling in them a deep appreciation for music and fostering their own artistic growth. Recognizing the historically underrepresented role of women in composition, Andrea has dedicated herself to championing their voices and works. In a testament to her compositional prowess, Neumann commissioned a breathtaking trombone quartet by Susan Mutter, which was met with resounding success at the 2023 International Trombone Association. She currently serves on the faculty of the Special Music School and Lucy Moses School which are affiliated with the distinguished Kaufman Music Center while maintaining a private studio. Over the past year, along with her colleague, Haim Avitsur, Andrea has been invited to several universities and public school districts to work with students to share experiences about the industry and overcoming adversity throughout her musical journey. Andrea Neumann's multifaceted contributions to the world of music continue to shape the industry and leave an indelible mark on the hearts of all who encounter her art.
