Violinist Jisun Kang is an accomplished performer and dedicated educator whose students have achieved success in competitions, youth orchestras, and conservatory admissions. She currently serves on the violin faculty at Special Music School in New York City and previously taught at Mannes Prep (2016–2021).
Since 2014, Ms. Kang has been the Associate Music Director of Love Violin, USA, a nonprofit organization providing musical instruction to underprivileged children. In 2025, she was appointed Music Director of the Bella Music Foundation Youth Orchestra, where she leads and mentors young musicians in orchestral performance and artistry.
Ms. Kang is also the co-founder of the 4Strings Music Festival in New York, where she performs and teaches each summer, fostering a supportive and inspiring learning environment for developing young musicians. She has also taught and performed at the Waterville Valley Music Festival (New Hampshire), Maui Summer Music Festival, Pacific Music Institute (Hawaii), and Narnia Music Festival (Italy).
A passionate performer, Ms. Kang has served as concertmaster for several New York ensembles and is a founding member of the BeneSori String Quartet.
She earned her Bachelor’s degree from Seoul National University, Master’s degree from The Juilliard School (recipient of the Carabo-Cone and Dorothy Starling Scholarships), and a Professional Studies degree from the Manhattan School of Music, where she studied with Glenn Dicterow, Lisa Kim, and Yoko Takebe.
Through both performance and teaching, Ms. Kang continues to inspire the next generation of musicians with her artistry, discipline, and passion for learning.
