Marian Schirrmeister, pianist and educator, has been teaching and performing in New York City for over fifteen years. Studying under Yuri Kim, she received her Bachelor’s degree from Mannes College, continuing on to obtain two Master’s degrees as a double major in Music Theory and Piano Performance. Marian received the distinguished Steinway Award upon graduating, given to a pianist who showed exceptional mastery in the field of theory and analysis. Marian has performed solo and chamber works in music festivals throughout The United States and Europe, studying with many celebrated pianists over the years. She performed with the International Academy of Music in Italy and Spain for over ten years, eventually receiving the Director’s Award for Excellence in Artistic Leadership and their annual Chamber Music Award. Marian now teaches Piano and Music Theory full-time. Working on the faculty of Lucy Moses School at Kaufman Music Center, she strives to cultivate a lifelong love of music in her students.
