By learning to recognize and use scales, advanced chord voicing and the basic harmonic progressions used in jazz, instrumentalists and vocalists will construct solos, develop repertoire and participate in jam sessions. The class will also concentrate on developing knowledge of your instrument and technique using jazz exercises developed by Barry Harris. The fall and spring classes culminate in an end-of-semester recital.
