This eight-week workshop is designed as a careful introduction to Pointe work at the barre.
Each class begins with a full Ballet barre to properly warm and prepare the body. The Pointe segment follows at the barre, focusing on correct alignment, strengthening of the feet and ankles, balance, and the development of control necessary to rise safely to full pointe. Safety and proper technique are the highest priorities.
Students may participate in ballet flats or pointe shoes at the teacher’s discretion and based on individual readiness.
Open to students enrolled in Ballet III/IV or by the teacher’s permission. Enrollment in a weekly Ballet technique class is required to support the strength and consistency needed for safe Pointe work.
Please visit the Dance Program Page for attire info, discounts, and recital information.
